Awesome NFL Road Trip Ideas for the 2025-26 Season

To help you find the best NFL trip for your schedule, I’ve sorted these road trips by the week of the NFL schedule:

Week 1 – NFL Road Trips (Sept 4 – 8, 2025)

1. NFL Season Opener Cowboys @ Eagles and Giants @ Commanders (plus Billy Joel & Sting!)

Wow, the only Week 1 NFL road trip is a doozy! Not only will you catch the defending Super Bowl champions on opening night. You can then catch Billy Joel and String in an outdoor stadium concert, before catching a catching an NFC East tilt when the New York Giants visit the surging Washington Commanders!

Your Week 1 NFL Trip Package Itinerary
  • September 3: Fly into the City of Brotherly Love. Renting a car for this NFL road trip is optional. Introduce yourself to the city with a food tour – find the best Philly cheese steak in the city! Also, don’t miss a chance to run up the Rocky steps!

  • September 4: Go to the NFL season opener at Lincoln Financial Field between the Eagles and Cowboys.

  • Sept 5: Drive or catch a train to Washington, DC.

  • Sept 5: Catch Billy Joel and Sting play at Nationals Park.

  • Sept 6: There is an incredible amount to see in Washington, DC. I’d recommend taking an all-day sightseeing tour which takes in all the highlights!

  • Sept 7: Head over to Northwest Stadium as early as possible to catch the early game between the NY Giants and the Washington Commanders.

You’re going to two separate stadiums for your events in Washington, DC, so you have the option to stay at a hotel in downtown Washington or near the Commanders stadium. Personally, I’d stay downtown as it is closest to the major DC attractions (Lincoln Memorial, Smithsonian, etc.) as well as the Billy Joel / Sting concert.

Week 2 – NFL Road Trip Ideas (Sept 11 – 15, 2025)

Week 2 is an excellent week to go on an NFL road trip! The weather is good, every team is still optimistic, and there are three separate options for an NFL road trip to choose from!

Week 2 – Option #1: Commanders @ Packers and Bears @ Lions (Plus the Cubs and Lumineers!)

This Week 2 NFL road trip idea begins in Green Bay, Wisconsin for a Thursday Night Football match under the lights against budding superstar Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders.

You’ve got 2 days to kill before getting to Detroit, so why not break up the trip with a stop in Chicago. You’ve got a few options in Chicago – catch a Cubs game at Wrigley Field, or see Gravedigger and his friends at the Monster jam.

If you like the Lumineers, they are playing an outdoor stadium show at Comerica Field in Detroit on Saturday night. Finish off this amazing NFL road trip with an NFC North matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions!

NFL fans watch the Packers play the Vikings in an NFC North match at Lambeau Field.
Your Week 2 NFL Trip Package Itinerary
  • September 10: Fly into Green Bay as early as possible and rent a car. Check into your hotel near Lambeau Field. If possible, go on a tour of Lambeau Field, or explore Titletown.

  • September 11: Arrive at Lambeau Field as early as you can to soak in the atmosphere at this iconic NFL stadium. Then catch the primetime Thursday Night Football game between Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders and the Green Bay Packers!

  • Sept 12: Optional activity instead of the Cubs game is the Monster Jam show.

  • Sept 13: Make your way to Detroit to see the Lumineers play an outdoor concert at Comerica Park.

  • Sept 14: Ford Field is right next door to Comerica Park, so your hotel will be super close. You’ll end your NFL road trip with an NFC North matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions!

Week 2 – Option #2: Giants @ Cowboys and Bucs @ Texans (and the Astros too!)

My very first solo NFL road trip included games in both Dallas and Houston, so this one brings back great memories. You’ll start your Texas NFL road trip in Dallas for an early Sunday game as the NY Giants come to town to play the Dallas Cowboys.

Take your time making your way south to Houston. Your next event isn’t until Monday Night Football, when the Houston Texans host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

If you’d like, you can hang around Houston for one more day to catch the Houston Astros play the Texas Rangers under the lights at Daikin Park.

Your Week 2 NFL Trip Package Itinerary
  • September 13: Fly into Dallas at your leisure, rent a car and check into your AT&T Stadium hotel. If you have the time, go on a stadium tour – it’s such a beautiful facility!

  • September 14: Arrive at AT&T Stadium as early as you can to soak in the pregame festivities. Then catch the Sunday morning NFC East matchup between the visiting New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys.

  • Sept 14: Drive to Houston after the game and check into your hotel near NRG Stadium.

  • Sept 15: Are you ready for some football?? Your next event is the Monday Night Football matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Houston Texans.

Week 2 – Option #3: Panthers @ Cardinals and Chargers @ Raiders

I love going to see NFL games in cities where there’s so much to do besides football. Phoenix and Las Vegas are two of the most fun cities to visit in the US, and you can see them both on this Week 2 NFL road trip! I’ve been to both cities for NFL games and can tell you that you should book some extra time on both ends of the trip to enjoy the best of both!

Your Week 2 NFL road trip starts in Phoenix, AZ. Before you make plans, be sure to read my post on planning a boys trip to Phoenix. If you’d like to catch some college football, arrive early to catch the Sun Devil Football team host Texas State. Then, on Sunday, you’ll see the Carolina Panthers take on the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium.

Then make your way to Sin City in time for the AFC West matchup on Monday Night Football between the Los Angeles Chargers at the Las Vegas Raiders. There’s so many cool things to do in Las Vegas, so make sure to read my guide to planning a trip to see a Las Vegas Raiders game to get even more ideas!

Your Week 2 NFL Trip Package Itinerary
  • Sept 13: If you decide to arrive in Phoenix early, head to Mountain America Stadium in Tempe to catch the Sun Devil Football team host Texas State.

  • Sept 14: Have a relaxing morning before heading to State Farm Stadium to see the Sunday afternoon game between the Carolina Panthers and the Arizona Cardinals.

  • Sept 14: It’s a 4.5 hour drive from Glendale to Vegas, so why not get it over with right after the Cardinals game. That way you have a full day of fun in Vegas before the Raiders game.

  • Sept 15: There are countless ways to have some fun in Vegas. Take your pick today, but make sure you make it to Allegiant Stadium in time for the Monday Night Football game between the LA Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders.

  • Sept 16 onwards: Stay in Vegas as long as you’d like…

Week 3 – NFL Road Trip Ideas (Sept 18 – 22, 2025)

The awesome NFL road trips just keep coming in Week 3, this time with two great options. There are powerhouse teams in both options, so good luck deciding which trip is best for you!

Week 3 – Option #1: Dolphins @ Bills and Packers @ Browns

Ahhh… another trip down memory lane for me… I did an NFL road trip between Buffalo and Cleveland a few years ago and it was awesome! Now it’s your turn to visit two of the most northern NFL cities – good thing this one is in September!

Your Week 3 NFL road trip begins with Thursday Night Football with the Miami Dolphins visiting Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. The fans in Buffalo are crazy (in a good way!). You need to experience it in person!

You’ve got a few days to make it to Cleveland. I recommend spending one extra day in Buffalo and hopefully catch a Buffalo Sabres game, and one extra day in Cleveland where you can visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Your NFL road trip concludes on Sunday when the Green Bay Packers (and thousands of their fans) visit to play the Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field.

Your Week 3 NFL Trip Package Itinerary
  • Sept 18: Arrive in Buffalo and rent a car. Drive outside of town to your hotel in Orchard Park, home of Highmark Stadium. There’s great pre-game atmosphere, so head to the stadium early for the Thursday Night Football game between the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills.

  • Sept 19: Buffalo is a beautiful city with tons to do. Check out my guide to going to a Buffalo Bills game for lots of things to do. I recommend going to Niagara Falls, and going on a Buffalo Chicken Wings tour.

  • Sept 20: Drive west to Cleveland and check into your downtown hotel. Be sure to visit Cleveland’s best attraction – the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame!

  • Sept 21: After breakfast, head to Huntington Bank Field with thousands of cheeseheads to watch the Green Bay Packers take on the Cleveland Browns.

Week 3 – Option #2: Rams @ Eagles and Lions @ Ravens

Your second option for a week 3 NFL road trip is packed with powerhouse teams. The four teams you’ll see on this trip had a combined 41 wins in 2024!!

You’ll start in Philadelphia for a rematch of the NFC Divisional Round game between the Los Angles Rams and the Eagles.

(The Eagles game of this road trip could also be replaced by the Sunday Night Football game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Giants. It’s a tough call!!!)

Just a short drive down the road (from Philly or NYC), and you’ll find yourself in Baltimore for a Monday Night Football battle between two of the very best teams in the NFL – the Detroit Lions and the Baltimore Ravens.

If you have the time, why not spend an extra day to see the Baltimore Orioles host the Tampa Bay Rays.

Your Week 3 NFL Trip Package Itinerary
  • Sept 20: Fly into Philadelphia, pick up your rental car and head to your Eagles hotel. If you have the time, why not try a Philadelphia food tour in search of the best Philly cheesesteak?

  • Sept 21: It’s a morning game, so get up early and head to Lincoln Financial Field to soak in the pregame atmosphere before the Rams seek revenge against the defending Super Bowl champs.

  • Sept 22: Enjoy a short commute to Baltimore, then settle into your hotel near the stadium. Monday Night Football games always have great energy, so head down early for the primetime matchup between the Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens.

Week 4 – NFL Road Trips (Sept 22-29, 2025)

As the weather starts to get colder, the two NFL road trip ideas for week 4 are both for sunny locations!

Week 4 – Option #1: Seahawks @ Cardinals and Bears @ Raiders (and Diamondbacks too!)

As with the opportunity in Week 2, this NFL road trip takes you to two of the most enjoyable cities in the league – Phoenix and Las Vegas!

Football fans enjoy an Arizona Cardinals game at State Farm Stadium.
  • Sept 24: Your trip begins in Phoenix. Catch the Arizona Diamondbacks host the Los Angeles Dodgers at Chase Field in an afternoon game. Then head to your State Farm Stadium hotel out in Glendale.

  • Sept 25: Your first NFL game of this road trip is a primetime matchup on Thursday Night Football between NFC West rivals, the Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks.

  • Sept 26: Hang around Phoenix one more day for some NCAA Division I football. The Arizona State Sun Devils play TCU at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe, AZ.

  • Sept 27: Make your way to Las Vegas during the day to make it in time to catch one of the legendary Las Vegas shows. If you can, check out a show at The Sphere – it will blow your mind!

  • Sept 28: Your NFL road trip concludes with an afternoon game at Allegiant Stadium, when the Chicago Bears visit the Las Vegas Raiders. Stay in Vegas for some fun for as long as your schedule allows!

Week 4 – Option #2: Eagles @ Buccaneers and Jets @ Dolphins

Our second NFL road trip idea in Week 4 takes you The Sunshine State for two exciting games – one of which includes the defending Super Bowl Champs – the Philadelphia Eagles!

  • Sept 27: Arrive in Tampa at your leisure. Rent a car and make your way to your hotel near the stadium. Enjoy some fun in the sun on your free day.

  • Sept 28: Arrive at Raymond James Stadium early to enjoy the pregame atmosphere before the early game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles. Drive to your Hard Rock Stadium hotel in Miami after the game.

Sept 29: You’ll have some time for some fun in the sun before the primetime football game tonight. As it is a Monday Night Football match, you’ll want to get to the stadium early to enjoy the festivities. Then enjoy the MNF game between AFC East rivals the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins.

Week 5 – NFL Road Trip Ideas (Oct 2 – 6, 2025)

As we flip the calendar into October, some of the northern NFL cities are starting to get a little colder. That’s not an issue for our Week 5 NFL road trips, as they are both in sunny destinations again!

Week 5 – Option #1: 49ers @ Rams and Commanders @ Chargers (and the UCLA Bruins!)

Ok, so this sports travel blog is all about NFL road trips, so I hope you’ll forgive me if you can see two NFL games in the same city on the same trip! Los Angeles is one of the best destinations for a vacation in the US, let alone being able to catch two games at SoFi Stadium!

The American flag on the field and on the video scoreboard during the national anthem at an LA Rams home game.
  • Oct 2: Arrive in LA at your leisure. Spend some time at your LA hotel before heading down to SoFi Stadium for the primetime TNF matchup between NFC West rivals, the legendary San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams.

  • Oct 3: There are few cities in the NFL which are more fun than LA! Make the most of your free two days in LA with some time at the beach, theme parks, food tours.

  • Oct 4: There’s a big time NCAA football game on the Saturday in-between your NFL games. Penn State is in town to play the UCLA Bruins at the Rose Bowl. Don’t miss this Big Ten matchup!

  • Oct 4: Just in case, I thought I’d also mention that Dua Lipa begins a 4-night stand at the Forum tonight.

  • Oct 5: The 2nd NFL game on this LA road trip is an early afternoon game at SoFi Stadium between the Washington Commanders and the Los Angeles Chargers.

A note about SoFi Stadium hotels… SoFi Stadium is in a central location within the city of Inglewood, which is not the most desirable from a tourist perspective. It’s an ok place, but aside from SoFi, there’s little to do, and not many decent hotels. All things considered, I’d recommend you get a rental car and grab a hotel near one of the awesome beaches in LA. (I stayed near Santa Monica Beach).

Week 5 – Option #2: Dolphins @ Panthers and Chiefs @ Jaguars (and NASCAR XFinity!)

Our second NFL trip of Week 5 takes us back to the southeast US, starting with a fun NASCAR Xfinity race and Panthers game in Charlotte, NC. It’s a bit of a drive for the Monday game, but it’ll be worth it to see Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs take on the Jags.

an aerial view of the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars football stadium - Everbank Stadium.
  • Oct 4: Arrive in Charlotte as early as you can, so you’ll have time to settle into your downtown hotel before heading to the ‘burbs to see the Drive for the Cure 250 NASCAR Xfinity Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

  • Oct 5: Next, head to Bank of America Stadium to catch the early afternoon tilt between the Miami Dolphins and the Carolina Panthers.

  • Oct 5: Given it’s nearly a 6 hour drive to Jacksonville, why not hit the road after the Panthers game and drive halfway. The charming city of Charleston, NC is perfect for this!

  • Oct 6: Any time you get a chance to see a future Hall of Famer play ball, it’s a big deal. Enjoy your Monday Night Football experience as Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs come to town to play the Jacksonville Jaguars under the lights.

Week 6 – NFL Road Trip Ideas (Oct 9 – 13, 2025)

Week 6 – Option #1: Triple Header!! Eagles @ Giants and Rams @ Ravens and Bears @ Commanders

Each NFL season, there are typically one one or two weeks where you can catch three games in a single weekend. I’ve done it once (Dallas, Houston and New Orleans), and trust me – it’s awesome!!

This NFL triple-header road trip is an east-coast trip, beginning in one of my favorite cities on Earth – New York City! I recommend arriving in NYC as early as your schedule allows, then staying until Saturday, before heading off to Baltimore, and then Washington for the MNF game.

The view of the Empire State Building from the Top of the Rock observation deck in NYC.
  • Oct 8 (or earlier): Arrive in NYC as early as you can. One of the most exciting cities on the NFL schedule, you’ll love having extra time to enjoy the Big Apple. Note, that MetLife Stadium is way out in New Jersey, away from the NYC attractions, so I recommend staying in Manhattan and commuting to the game.

  • Oct 9: The first game of this NFL triple-header is a good one! Head out to MetLife early to enjoy the exciting atmosphere that follows everywhere the defending Super Bowl champions play. Then, enjoy watching the Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants under the lights on Thursday Night Football!

  • Oct 11: Make your way to Baltimore today so your are not rushed to get to the early Sunday game.

  • Oct 12: The middle game of your east coast NFL road trip is another good one – this time with an excellent quarterback duel. Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams come to town to play Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium.

  • Oct 12: Washington, DC is super close to Baltimore, so head to the final stop on your road trip after the Ravens game.

  • Oct 13: There’s no better way to end an NFL road trip than with a Monday Night Football game. This week, the Chicago Bears are in town to play Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders. If you are staying a few extra days, get a hotel in downtown Washington to be closer to the sights, otherwise, just get a hotel near the stadium.

  • Oct 14 onwards: If you have the time, stay a few extra days in DC to take in all the amazing sights!

Week 6 – Option #2: Cowboys @ Panthers and Bills @ Falcons

Your second option for a Week 6 NFL road trip takes you to the southeastern USA. Here you’ll have a chance to see two of the league’s most popular teams play on the road.

  • Oct 11: Arrive in Charlotte, NC at least one day early, so you can settle into your hotel near the Bank of America stadium, and see some sights.

  • Oct 12: After a leisurely morning, head on over to the Bank of America stadium to catch an early game between America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys and the Carolina Panthers. The Cowboys always have a lot of fans, no matter where they play, so the atmosphere is going to be fun!

  • Oct 12: It’s a 4 hour drive between Charlotte and Atlanta, so I recommend you do it right after the Panthers game. This ensures you have a relaxed day ahead of MNF.

  • Oct 13: Monday Night Football is always an electrifying experience, but it’s especially so when you have the reigning NFL MVP coming to town. Make sure to get to Mercedes-Benz Stadium early to hang with all the travelling Bills Mafia. Then catch Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills play the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.

Week 7 – NFL Road Trips (Oct 16 – 20, 2025)

Week 7 – Steelers @ Bengals and Dolphins @ Browns

Our week 7 NFL road trip takes us exclusively to the state of Ohio. I went to a Halloween game in Cleveland once and the weather was really nice, but as both stadiums are outdoors, and are in the northern regions of the US, watch the weather forecast carefully in case you need to dress warmly.

  • Oct 16: Arrive in Cincinnati early and head to your hotel near Paycor Stadium. Make your way to the stadium to enjoy a Thursday Night Football matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals.

  • Oct 17: Spend Friday exploring Cincinnati. Maybe try a river cruise on the Ohio River or a food tour.

  • Oct 18: Drive north to Cleveland, making sure you arrive in time to visit the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.

  • Oct 19: Head to Huntington Bank Stadium early in the day to catch the Miami Dolphins play the Cleveland Browns in an early Sunday matchup.

Week 8 – NFL Road Trips (Oct 23 – 27, 2025)

For the first time this season, there are no easy opportunities to see two or more NFL games in the same week. If you can settle for a single game, the Monday Night Football QB matchup looks incredible – Jayden Daniels vs. Patrick Mahomes!

  • Oct 24: Arrive in Kansas City at your leisure on Friday and check into your hotel near Arrowhead Stadium.

  • Oct 25-26: Spend a fun weekend around Kansas City.

  • Oct 27: Finally, on Monday you’ll get to see the main event of your trip to Kansas City. An epic QB matchup between young superstar Jayden Daniel and future hall of famer Patrick Mahomes, as the Washington Commanders take on the Kansas City Chiefs under the lights on Monday Night Football.

  • Oct 28: If you have the time and interest, I thought I’d mention that there’s a Tate McRae concert at T-Mobile Center on Tuesday night…

Week 9 – NFL Road Trip Ideas (Oct 30 – Nov 3, 2025)

Week 9: Broncos @ Texans and Cardinals @ Cowboys (plus Big 12 football!)

Week 9 of the 2025 NFL schedule brings another opportunity to catch two games in the Lone Star State. In addition to catching the Texans and Cowboys play, you’ll have a chance to see some high level college ball with a Big 12 matchup between West Virginia and the Cougars.

Upper deck sideline seats at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
  • Oct 31: The kickoff time for the Cougars game hasn’t been announced yet, so to be on the safe side, arrive in Houston on the previous day. It’s Halloween on a Friday night, so go have some fun!!

  • Nov 1: Hopefully you won’t be too hung over to enjoy the NCAA Div I game on Saturday – time TBD. College ball always has a great atmosphere, so head on over to TDECU Stadium early before catching the West Virginia Mountaineers play the Houston Cougars.

  • Nov 2: After breakfast, head on over to NRG Stadium for a early Sunday game between AFC rivals the Denver Broncos and the Houston Texans.
  • Nov 2: It’s a 4 hour drive between the two Texas cities, so why not get it over with after the Texans game?

  • Nov 3: Dallas is such a fun place to watch a football game, especially when it’s on Monday Night Football. Tonight you’ll be going to a primetime game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys.

Week 10 – NFL Road Trip Ideas (Nov 6 – 10, 2025)

Week 10: Giants @ Bears and Eagles @ Packers (and Jo Koy too!)

Your Week 10 NFL road trip idea is an awesome one! It begins in Chicago, one of my favorite cities to visit in the US. If you want to arrive a few days early, you can catch Jo Koy standup at the United Center. Then you can catch the Giants play the Bears at iconic Soldier Field. Then head up to Green Bay for an epic battle between the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles and the Packers!

The iconic statue of Curly Lambeau outside the stadium which he was named after - Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
  • Nov 7: Chicago is one of the most enjoyable cities to visit in the United States. Why not arrive a couple of days ahead of the Bears game and catch Jo Koy do standup at the United Center? Soldier Field is within easy walking distance of downtown Chicago, so make it easy and stay downtown.
  • Nov 8: Take your free day and enjoy the sites in Chicago. Don’t miss doing the river tour!

  • Nov 9: On your walk over to Soldier Field in the morning, don’t miss a chance to stop at the fountain from Married with Children (loved that show)! Then catch the NFC matchup between the New York Giants and the Chicago Bears.

  • Nov 9: It’s roughly 3.5 hours to drive from Chicago to green Bay, so I recommend doing that right after the Bears game. This will give you time to soak in the Green Bay experience all day on Monday.

  • Nov 10: A Monday Night Football matchup between the Super Bowl champs and the Green Bay Packers on a chilly November night at Lambeau Field… Does it get any better than this??? Be sure to arrive at Lambeau as early as possible before the game to spend time at Titletown, see the Packers Hall of Fame, etc.

Week 11 – NFL Road Trip Ideas (Nov 13 – 17, 2025)

Week 11 – Option #1: Jets @ Patriots and Packers @ Giants

The first NFL road trip idea for week 11 includes two of my favorite things: New York City and the Green Bay Packers! Your trip begins a few hours north, with a TNF tilt between the New York Jets and the New England Patriots.

Making your way to NYC, aside from the usual assortment of shows, etc. there are a few acts to choose from on Saturday night: Billy Strings plays the Prudential Center or Marlon Wayans is doing standup out on Staten Island.

The Packers play the Giants in an early game on Sunday, and if you area college basketball fan, you will want to stick around for the Champions Classic on Wednesday at Madison Square Gardens!

One World Trade Center stands behind the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City.
  • Nov 13: Arrive in Boston as early as you can and make your way to your Gillette Stadium hotel. Then head to the stadium to watch an AFC East rivalry matchup between the New York Jets and the New England Patriots in a Thursday Night Football game.

  • Nov 14 – 15: You have a few days to make it to NYC for the Sunday game, so stay in Boston for a while to see the sights, then head to the Big Apple. You’ve got a few entertainment choices on Saturday night, with a Billy Strings concert, or Marlon Wayans standup.

  • Nov 16: You’ll want to head out to Jersey early to join the throngs of traveling Green Bay fans watch the Packers take on the New York Giants in an afternoon game at MetLife Stadium.

  • Nov 17: If you love college basketball, you’ll want to hang around for a big event on Wednesday. Take Tuesday to see the sights in Manhattan, then catch a show at night.

  • Nov 18: The college basketball season kicks off at MSG with the Champions Classic! This year’s edition features two incredible games: Kansas vs. Duke and Kentucky vs. Michigan State!

Week 11 – Option #2: Seahawks @ Rams and Cowboys @ Raiders

One of the most enjoyable NFL road trip city combinations is visiting LA and Vegas in the same weekend! I did this a few years back and had an awesome time. In Week 11 of the 2025 NFL schedule, you can too!

You’ll want to arrive in Los Angeles early to enjoy a weekend in sunny southern California. There’s two fun options for events on Saturday, including one of the most anticipated college football games of the season, between the Trojans and the Hawkeyes! If you’re a country music fan, you can also catch Eric Church.

The NFL action starts with a mid-afternoon game at SoFi Stadium between NFC West rivals, the Seahawks and the Rams (both 10-win teams in 2024!). Then head to Las Vegas to catch America’s team, the Dallas Cowboys play the Raiders on Monday Night Football!

Week 12 – NFL Road Trips (Nov 20 – 24, 2025)

As we approach December, you’ll be glad that both Week 12 NFL road trips are in warm destinations!

Week 12 – Option #1: Bills @ Texans and Eagles @ Cowboys

Your first option for a Week 12 road trip is another chance to travel to Texas to see a game in both cities. Your trip begins with an exciting game with an excellent QB battle on Thursday Night Football. Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills come to town to take on CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans. To me, nothing makes a game more exciting than two high-level quarterbacks!

You’ve got a choice of college football games on Saturday, with each Houston and Dallas hosting home games. Take your pick, but make sure you get to Dallas in plenty of time for the epic rivalry match on Sunday.

The Eagles & Cowboys rivalry is one of the best in the NFL. The Cowboys have a sizable lead in the all-time series, but this time the Eagles are defending Super Bowl champs, so they have a chance to get some revenge. Should be an awesome game!!

  • Nov 20: Buffalo Bills @ Houston Texans
  • Nov 22: TCU Horned Frogs @ Houston Cougars
  • Nov 22: Louisville Cardinals @ SMU Mustangs
  • Nov 23: Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys

Week 12 – Option #2: Bucs @ Rams and Panthers @ 49ers

Your second NFL road trip idea for Week 12 takes you to sunny California for two primetime games. Your trip starts in Los Angeles, so as usual, arrive as early as your schedule allows and enjoy the best LA has to offer.

There’s an excellent Big 10 college football game at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, when the Washington Huskies play the UCLA Bruins.

Then head to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood for a Sunday Night Football tilt between the Bucs and the Rams. Being on the West Coast it’s a 5:20PM kickoff, so it may be a good idea to get a few hours of driving done after the game.

Finish up the 5 hour drive to San Francisco on Monday morning and go to your hotel near Levi’s Stadium. Relax for a bit, before heading to the stadium for a Monday Night Football game between the Carolina Panthers and the San Francisco 49ers.

You came a long way to see the 49ers game, so try to stay a day or two and see the many excellent sights around the Bay area.

Week 13 – Thanksgiving NFL Road Trips (Nov 27 – Dec 1, 2025)

NFL on Thanksgiving is an American tradition. You can be a part of it in person with these two NFL road trip ideas in Week 13!

Week 13 – Option #1: Packers @ Lions and 49ers @ Browns

Your first NFL road trip idea for Thanksgiving begins with an epic NFC North showdown in Detroit, when the Packers come to town to take on the nearly unstoppable Lions.

After the Thanksgiving day game, you can decide how long to spend in Detroit before making your way to Cleveland, along the southern shores of Lake Erie. On Sunday afternoon you’ll watch an early game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Cleveland Browns.

Week 13 – Option #2 – Triple Header!!: Bears @ Eagles and Falcons @ Jets and Giants @ Patriots

One of my very first NFL road trips was over Thanksgiving – it’s one of the best times each season to catch a rare triple-header in one weekend. Lucky for you, there’s an excellent chance to catch three exciting NFL games in one weekend, in three very exciting locations!

Your NFL Thanksgiving road trip begins in Philly with a very rare Friday game! The Chicago Bears are coming to town to play the champs. If you like standup comedy, hang out in Philadelphia one more night to see Matt Rife at the Wells Fargo Center.

If you stay for Matt Rife, you’ll need to get up early to get to MetLife Stadium in time for the early Sunday afternoon game between the Atlanta Falcons and the NY Jets.

The only bad part about this NFL road trip is that you won’t have much time to spend in NYC. Perhaps the Sunday night after the Jets game?

Your NFL Thanksgiving road trip ends up in Boston for the MNF matchup between the Giants and Patriots. Three games in four days – amazing!!

  • Nov 28: Chicago Bears @ Philadelphia Eagles (Friday game!)
  • Nov 29: Matt Rife @ Wells Fargo Center
  • Nov 30: Atlanta Falcons @ New York Jets
  • Dec 1: New York Giants @ New England Patriots

Week 14 – NFL Road Trip Ideas (Dec 4 – 8, 2025)

Week 14 – Option #1: Cowboys @ Lions and Bears @ Packers

Your first NFL road trip idea for Week 14 starts off with a bang with an awesome Thursday Night Football game between the Cowboys and Lions!

Then you have a super-tough choice to make – you have two different Sunday afternoon games you can choose from: The first is the oldest NFL rivalry when the Bears play the Packers at iconic Lambeau Field (a chilly day in December – the classic Lambeau experience!). Or… you can make your way to Buffalo to watch the reigning MVP and his Buffalo Bills host the Bengals.

I love the Packers and visiting Lambeau is an incredible experience, but the Buffalo fans are so passionate – it too is an unmissable experience. Good luck choosing!!

Week 14 – Option #2: Broncos @ Raiders and Eagles @ Chargers

Your second option for a Week 14 NFL road trip is another chance to visit Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Your trip starts in Vegas, so arrive a few days early to enjoy the very best of Sin City. If you are interested, the National Finals Rodeo is on – you could catch the action the day before the Raiders game.

Your first NFL game of the weekend is an afternoon game at Allegiant Stadium between AFC West rivals, the Denver Broncos and the Las Vegas Raiders. Then make your way to LA after the game so you have plenty of time to enjoy Monday Night Football at SoFi Stadium. It’s a good game this week, as the Philadelphia Eagles are in town to play the Chargers.

  • Dec 6: National Finals Rodeo
  • Dec 7: Denver Broncos @ Las Vegas Raiders
  • Dec 8: Philadelphia Eagles @ Los Angeles Chargers

Week 15 – NFL Road Trips (Dec 11 – 15, 2025)

Week 15 – Option #1: Falcons @ Buccaneers and Jets @ Jaguars

By the time Week 15 of the NFL schedule rolls around, we’re now in the dead of winter, so you’ll be glad your first road trip option is in Florida! Your trip begins with an NFC South matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Then you have a few days to make your way to Jacksonville, where you’ll catch the NY Jets and the Jaguars on Sunday afternoon.

  • Dec 11: Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Dec 14: New York Jets @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Week 15 – Option #2: Raiders @ Eagles and Dolphins @ Steelers

Although it’s undeniably nice to go on an NFL road trip to a sunny destination, sometimes it’s even more fun to go to a couple of outdoor games in the middle of winter. Your second Week 15 NFL road trip idea gives you that opportunity, with two games in Pennsylvania!

Your weekend NFL trip to Pennsylvania begins on Sunday afternoon when the Las Vegas Raiders take on the mighty Philadelphia Eagles. Then make your way to The Steel City, to catch the Miami Dolphins play the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football!

  • Dec 14: Las Vegas Raiders @ Philadelphia Eagles
  • Dec 15: Miami Dolphins @ Pittsburgh Steelers

Week 16 – NFL Road Trips (Dec 18 – 22, 2025)

Week 16 – Option #1: Chiefs @ Titans and 49ers @ Colts

Any chance you can see one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks to play the game, you should take it. You’ll get that chance in Week 16, when your NFL road trip takes you to Nashville to watch Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs come to town to play the Tennessee Titans on Sunday afternoon.

Your second game of this late season NFL road trip is a primetime Monday Night Football matchup between the iconic San Francisco 49ers and the Indianapolis Colts.

  • Dec 21: Kansas City Chiefs @ Tennessee Titans
  • Dec 22: San Francisco 49ers @ Indianapolis Colts

Week 17 – Christmas NFL Road Trip Ideas (Dec 25 – 29, 2025)

Week 17 of the NFL schedule is our final opportunity to plan NFL road trips for the 2025-26 season. This is the week between Christmas and New Years, which many people have off, making it easy to get away for a road trip!

There are several flex games this week, making it a bit harder to plan, but the known schedule does give an excellent road trip opportunity!!

Week 17 – Option #1: Cowboys @ Commanders and Eagles @ Bills

Your first option for a Week 17 NFL road tip is an excellent one! It’s a longer distance between host cities than I typically allow for, but there is plenty of time and the games are so good, that I made an exception this time.

This NFL road trip idea begins in Washington, D.C. with an afternoon game at Northwest Stadium for a Christmas Day game between the Commanders and Cowboys.

You’ve got two full days to make the 7 hour drive between Washington and Buffalo. If you arrived in DC early enough to see all the important sights there, why not split up the drive by stopping in Gettysburg and Hershey, PA?

The second game in your NFL road trip is one of the games I’m most excited about this season! The defending Super Bowl champs, the Philadelphia Eagles, are coming to Buffalo in the dead of winter to play MVP Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. It doesn’t get much better than this!!

Week 18

Due to the NFL Flexible Scheduling Policy, it’s near impossible to plan any NFL road trips for the final week of the schedule. The league doesn’t set the date / times of the games for Week 18 until the end of week 17. In addition, there’s typically no Thursday Night Football or Monday Night Football in Week 18 – only two Saturday games. This makes it extra hard to find an opportunity for an NFL road trip.
